Our Story: Rooted in Faith, Driven by Hope
Hi, we are the heart behind The Root Health and Wellness.
Our names are Nathan and Courtney Kirk. Our journey didn’t begin as a business—it began as a calling. We believe that every person’s path to wellness is unique, but our own path was forged in the fire of a life-changing trial.
The Turning Point
When our son, Remington "Remy", was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumor, our world stopped. The medical prognosis was devastating: we were told we had only 5 to 11 days left with him. In that moment of absolute darkness, we turned to the only source of strength we had left. We began to pray, and we began to search.
A Holistic Revelation
As we sought answers, we felt God leading us toward the world of natural health. Through some of the hardest seasons of my life, especially walking through deep grief, we realized how much our bodies, minds, and spirits are all connected. We discovered that healing isn't just about a physical symptom; it’s about nurturing the whole person. With all the research we gathered and the way we were treated within the traditional medical field, we knew we couldn't keep these truths to ourselves. We felt a divine urgency to share with others what God was sharing with us.
What We Believe
We believe it is time to get back to the basics of how God intended us to live. Our modern world has moved so far away from the foundations of health, and we are on a mission to reclaim them:
Nourishing Food: Returning to the real, whole foods provided by the Earth to fuel our bodies as they were designed.
Herbal Medicine: Utilizing the plants and herbs God placed here for our healing and support.
Unshakable Faith: Strengthening our spirits and keeping our faith stronger than ever, knowing that true wellness flows from the Creator.
In Memory Of
Our sweet Remy Parker Kirk
Our sweet boy passed away at 7 years old. After choosing radiation based on the advice we were given, we saw the toll it took. We truly believe that if we had never done radiation, he would still be here with us today. While that realization is heavy, I have a deep, soul-level peace knowing that he is now with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ—finally and forever healed wholly.
He is our "why," and his life continues to impact every person we help.

We believe that the trials we face aren’t just hurdles to clear—they are meant to produce endurance and equip us to walk alongside others in their own seasons of hardship. My journey has been defined by this cycle of grace. I’ve written two books detailing our story and the incredible ways the Lord sustained us through it all.

Hi there! My name is Courtney and that is my husband, Nathan, in the picture beside me. We are the faces behind The Root Health and Wellness. We have four beautiful children; Carson, Lily Grace, Chanleigh, and Remy who is getting to spend his eternity with Jesus earlier than us. And we cannot forget our two crazy dogs named Bexley and Chapo.
A few fun facts about us:
I was a hairstylist for 15 years before I became a Holistic Health Practitioner.
We LOVE to travel!
Nate is a gun enthusiast and a fishing fanatic.
I love to paint and write.
We yell War Eagle!
And if there is one thing that to say to you, it is "STAY STRONG, REMY STRONG!"
